Terms of engagement

What we agree to, before any work begins.

These terms are agreed in writing with every engagement. They are written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, ask before you sign it.

The short version. We produce imagery that matches your actual product. If an image misrepresents it, we correct it. If it cannot be corrected, it is not billed. You own the finished work outright. Nothing you send us is used anywhere else.

1. What we produce

A product set is five finished images: a main shot on a clean ground, angles, a detail crop, a scale image, and the product in a room. Each is delivered as a 2400 by 2400 square master, plus the crops required by the channels agreed at the quote stage. Files are named to your own SKU convention.

Additional compositions, additional formats and additional products are quoted separately and in advance. There is no minimum quantity.

2. The fidelity guarantee

This is the operative term of the engagement.

Every image we deliver will match your actual product in colour, finish, material and weave, proportion between the parts, and any detail a customer could count, so far as those attributes are legible in the reference material you provide.

Before production starts we record those attributes in writing from your references and send them to you. That record is what both of us measure the finished image against.

If a delivered image does not match on any recorded attribute, we produce it again at no charge. If it cannot be made to match from the references held, it is not billed and we tell you which attribute failed and why.

Every image is compared against its reference before delivery, on each recorded attribute. You receive that record with the work.

3. What the guarantee does not cover

  • Preference. The guarantee is about accuracy, not taste. Changes to styling, background, crop or mood are ordinary revisions, and the number included is set at the quote stage
  • Attributes your references do not show. We can reproduce what the reference contains. We cannot reproduce what it does not. Where an attribute is not legible we say so before starting and ask for one more frame
  • Printed text and packaging copy, unless quoted separately under clause 8
  • Changes to the product itself after the references were supplied

4. Reference material and rights

You confirm that you hold the rights to use and to pass to us every reference image you send, including supplier and marketplace images, and that our use of them to produce your work does not infringe anyone else's rights.

We use your reference material and your finished images only to produce and deliver your work. We do not publish them, show them to anyone else, or use them as portfolio or promotional material unless you give written permission for a specific image.

5. Approval before the run

On any engagement of more than one product, the first product is produced, delivered and approved by you before the rest of the run begins. That is where the standard is agreed. Once approved, it is the standard the remaining products are measured against.

6. Ownership of the finished work

On final payment, the finished images are yours outright. Full ownership, worldwide, with no time limit, no usage tiers and no additional fee for any channel, including paid media and print.

You keep whatever rights you already held in your product and in your reference material. Nothing here changes them.

7. Payment

Fifty per cent on acceptance of the quote. Fifty per cent on delivery. No retainer, no subscription, no minimum term, no automatic renewal, and no charge for unused capacity.

Any image that falls under clause 2 as not billed is removed from the final invoice.

8. Printed text and packaging

Reproducing printed copy exactly, such as a weight, an ingredient list or regulated label text, takes considerably longer than the product itself and is quoted separately.

Where label copy has legal or regulatory consequence for you, tell us at the quote stage. In some cases the honest answer is that the packaging should be photographed rather than produced, and we will say so.

9. Timing

Every quote carries a delivery date. Where a date is missed for a reason within our control, you may cancel the remainder of the engagement and pay only for work already delivered and approved.

10. What we do not claim

We make no promise about sales, conversion, traffic or returns. Those depend on your product, your pricing and your market. Our commitment is that the image is true to the product.

11. Confidentiality

Unreleased products, pricing, catalogues and anything else you share stay confidential, before and after the engagement, whether or not a separate agreement is signed.

12. Privacy

This website collects nothing. No forms, no accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no requests to any third party server. There is nothing to opt out of.

If you email us, we hold your message and your address for the purpose of answering it and keeping our own business records. We do not sell, rent or share them. Ask us and we will delete them.

13. Changes to these terms

The terms that apply to your engagement are the ones agreed in writing at the quote stage. Later changes to this page do not alter an engagement already underway.
